short turn. Again notice the
greater distance before the short
turn is layed back. In the early
castings this distance is about 1/3
of what is shown here
Note also that there is an apparent
line of demarcation between the
suggested straight shot off of the
valve seat and the beginning of the
short turn.

This is an Edelbrock RPM head.
This is the shape to look for.
Notice the gentle radius after the
straight shot off the seat. There
is still more work to be done
here for max flow.

Gently lay back the short turn
radius to the crest or to the point
where the floor is highest. You
should lower the crest but do
this later when you will angle
this high point parallel with the
valve seats inclination angle. DO
NOT lower the crest on any
D0VE-A&C or C9VE or C8VE
casting number heads. Only on
the later castings. 12-02
